This video shows a C-5 aircraft flying into Moffett Field, CA. to pick up a early-warning satellite to bring it to Florida to be launched into space to join other satellites to make up a complete global early-warning system.
Moffett Field is where I was stationed (and retired from) in the 129th California Air National Guard Air Rescue Unit.
Those massive wooden hangers the C5 is being loaded in front of were built and used for housing dirigibles like the USS Macon during world war 1.
(If you would like to learn more of this fascinating time in aviation and the USS Macon click here).
My unit spent many decades (and most of my career) in one of those hangers.
Later our unit received our own, brand new steel hanger.
